The last face-to-face meeting of the WOODIGITAL project took place on September 8 and 9. The meeting was held in the space WEcontractBCN, a showroom managed by CENFIM in the heart of Barcelona.

The meeting focused its discussion on a series of issues of great importance and impact for the project. The first was to approve and decide to publish the final version of the Curriculum for Woodworker 4.0. This Curriculum has been the result of the collaborative work of the partners with the stakeholders in the identification of the priority training needs in industry 4.0 of young people who want to enter the wood and furniture sector.

On the other hand, the latest changes and improvements were agreed upon to be incorporated into the WOODIGITAL course - introduction to Industry 4.0 in the wood and furniture sector, after having been tested by more than 160 students and having issued more than 200 course/learning units’ completion certificates.

The partners also discussed how the main final results of the project will be presented and shared with the target audience (the Woodworker 4.0 curriculum, the introductory course to Industry 4.0 - in 5 languages - and the handbook that includes the context and application of the research and content developed in the project) in the multiplier events that will take place in the 5 partner countries (France, Italy, Ireland, Hungary and Spain) before the end of the project in September.

During the meeting, aspects of administrative and financial management of the project, quality assurance, dissemination and future sustainability of the project were also discussed. Regarding this last topic, the sustainability of the project, we are pleased to announce that the WOODIGITAL consortium will start a new Erasmus+ project in October: WOODCIRCLE, which aims to develop an introductory course on Circular Economy for the wood and furniture sector, totally complementary and synergistic with WOODIGITAL.

Both projects will be of great help for the training of workers in the wood and furniture sector in digital and green skills, essential for an effective twin transition (digital and circular) of the wood and furniture sector.
See you at WOODCIRCLE!
