FLA and Cosmob hosted the Learners Mobility - part of the training programme of the Erasmus+ WOODIGITAL project – from the 6th until the 15th of July.
Ten days, devoted to explore the wood and furniture chain, with a specific focus on new and innovative 4.0 technologies.For the 24 students coming from VET and HE training centers from 5 European countries (France, Hungary, Ireland, Italy Spain,) and the 10 teachers, the Agenda provided a tight programme, combining training sessions, workshops, practical activities, companies and showrooms visits and cultural activities. Ten days to discover the evolution of the sector and to taste the “Made in Italy” contribution to the furnishing growth on the global market.
During the welcome session FLA introduced the economics of the wood and furniture chain – at EU and Italian level – with the relevant trends and scenarios post-pandemic.
The following two days have been devoted to training and practical activities hosted by the ArtWood Academy, a VET and HE center located in Lentate sul Seveso at the hearth of furniture and design district in Lombardy, equipped by the up-to-date technologies and 4.0 industrial machinery.
The participants succesfully tried to develop a project from the design until the manufacturing, using CAM/CAD softwares, 3D printers and CNC machines.
The first part of the mobility ended with the visit to the leading furnishing company LEMA and the visit to the Design Museum in Milano, to discover the “Compasso d’Oro” collection.
The second part of the Mobility has been hosted by COSMOB, a technological center located in Marche Region, point of reference of the local sector and operating at national level as well. The participants attended two training sessions about the fast prototyping, laser cutting and electronic boards and a specific session about quality management and environmental certification.
The programme in Marche Region included also three on-field activities: the visit to the Hafele showroom, to the company BIESSE and to the COSMOB laboratories for testing and FabLab.
The delegation closed the Mobility at Cosmob premises, sharing the lessons learnt and evaluating the effectiveness of the programme, in order to support further editions and the exploitation of the Woodigital main outcomes.
